It is with great regret that precautions associated with the coronavirus outbreak necessitate we cancel the 2020 Spring PCSC Ambassador Meetings.
As widely discussed in the media, the coronavirus poses substantial risks to older adults, especially those with compromised health. Guided by prudence and government guidelines, we have accordingly restricted access to our communities. Only individual visitors are allowed into the communities at the current moment, and these are screened prior to entry. Group visits and group events such as the Ambassador meetings have been cancelled. Such measures are unfortunate, but we must place the health and well-being of our residents first.
President and CEO Kathy Ligon and I are particularly saddened to miss this opportunity to update you on PCSC’s ministry, as well as the enjoyment we feel when these meetings allow us to reconnect with special friends of this organization.
With Kathy retiring at the end of May, I am sure many of you will want to share your well-wishes and gratitude for her diligent and caring service. Kathy has been employed by this organization for 33 years, and has served as President and CEO for 13 of those years. I would encourage you to send her a card or note at the address above. Please do not let this unfortunate cancellation dampen your enthusiasm for the Mother’s Day Offering. Coronavirus or no, the Offering is an essential part of showing solidarity with residents who can no longer afford the full cost of their care. Your church’s generosity through the Offering provides charitable care to ensure these seniors will continue to have a home with PCSC.
Many of you typically pick up your church’s Mother’s Day materials at these meetings, but we will be mailing these to your church this year.
