Dear Pastors and pastoral leadership,
Today’s note is for you. This week has been one where the news has changed daily, and that will continue. It has been a week of decisions concerning meetings and the health of our siblings in Christ. It has been a whirlwind of a different sort.
In Isaiah we read, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. …Because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.” (Is. 43:18-21, NIV)
We, God’s people, the church, are resilient. Even in the middle of uncertainty, the certainty in our lives is God’s Presence and Love. We have heard your concerns and stress through posts and emails. Please remember: we are a connectional church and with God’s mercy and the Spirit’s power, we are never alone. We send air hugs. In this pandemic, the relevancy of the church will shine well beyond the 11:00 Sunday Morning hour. This message is our sustainable hope. READ MORE
