Mexico Border &

Central America Ministry

Our Mission

The Mexico Border and Central America Ministry team seeks to promote the understanding of immigration and migrant issues at the US-Mexico border, in countries of origin especially in Mexico and Central America, and in our local community. We look to build relationships through our support of Frontera de Cristo, other ministry opportunities in Central America, and locally through the Carolina Immigrant Alliance.

Our Work

Immigration is a complex and multifaceted issue that has been at the forefront of global discourse for decades. Providence Presbytery's Mexico Border and Central America Ministry Neighborhood attempts to bring understanding, support and solidarity for migrants, asylum seekers, and marginalized communities along the Mexican border, and in Central America.

How Do We Accomplish Our Mission?

01

We educate ourselves and the community by learning about the history and issues concerning immigration. We will lead delegations to visit Frontera de Cristo, support learning opportunities through community events and lectures.

02

We amplify the voices of those seeking a safer, more prosperous life, ensuring their stories and struggles are heard and respected.

03

We connect communities across borders, fostering a culture of empathy, understanding, and cooperation.

04

We advance human rights and dignity, advocating for policies and practices that prioritize the well-being and safety of all individuals, regardless of nationality or immigration status.

05

We provide critical support through research, education, and community outreach, helping to address the complex challenges faced by migrants and border communities.

06

We inspire hope and resilience, celebrating the strength and determination of those seeking a better life, and working towards a future where all individuals can thrive with dignity and purpose.
